Newquay Sunday

Newquay Sundays (any age) and Over 30’s 6 aside league  – Sunday Evenings 6pm to 8pm

Sunday evening is the home to our over 30’s league on the astroturf at Newquay Tretherras. There is also a mini league of eight teams of any age that will be starting soon.

Over 30’s league

The cost per team will be £32 for a 40 minute game.  The longer format means you can play as much football as you can and on the generously sized 6 aside pitches. We recommend bringing at least one substitute as the extra time means things will get tiring. We have space for more teams so get in touch to book your teams place.

Mini League (any age)

There are eight spaces available for the Sunday league. Games will be 30 minutes and the cost is £24 per team. With limited spaces we expect the league to fill up soon. Get in touch soon to avoid missing out.

Week 6

Corona Virus Update

We are continually monitoring updated advice and as of the 17th March 2020 we are no longer allowed to play 6 aside football. This has been confirmed by the FA and will be for at least the next two weeks. We are hopeful that things will resume soon but at the moment a restart date is not available. We will keep you all posted and wish everyone the best over the next few weeks. Take care and stay safe. Mike, Glyn and the team.

Match Reports

Week  5

Badly Wrapped Kebab 5 The Tigers 3

The Tigers started cautiously as Badly Wrapped Kebab came flying at them. The Tigers held them at bay until Craig Daniels struck to make it 1-0. The Tigers came back fighting and when Neil Gapper made it 1-1 there wasn’t much to separate the two sides.  The Tigers imploded in a destructive five minutes that saw Kebeb take control of the match with the goals flying in from Nathan Allan (3) and James Morns.

The Tigers started the second half brightly and two swift strikes from Karl Mackie and Christian Misano gave the Tigers hope of an unlikely comeback. Badly Wrapped Kebab changed tactics to see out the match and move back up the table.

Wylie Kouyate 5 Fray Bentos 1

The leagues top two sides faced each other in a match that should have been close. Wylie Kouyate had other ideas as their powerful side quickly swept away any hope of a Fray Bentos win. The Sommerville brothers were once again at the heart of their best moves, with Craig and Ross (2) both on target. It was the excellent Mark Nolan who got things rolling with a stunning equaliser after Mike Nocholas gave Fray Bentos the lead. Fray Bentos quickly tired and by the second half any hope of a comeback had dispersed.  The win leaves Kouyate top of the table having yet to drop a single point.

Newquay Football Golf 5 West Hamstrings Utd 1

If West Hamstrings could play the game for 10 mintues the table would look very different and for the first part of the match they were as good as their opponents. After that West HamStrings began to tire and Newquay took full advantage. Dan Selhurst, Richard Morgan and Ryan Evans were all on the scoresheet with Jamie Callister netting the consolation for West Ham who are really just one box to box player away from their first win.

Newquay PL Old Boys 0 Colan Old Boys 5

The leagues two newest sides faced each other in a match of unknowns. PL Old Boys started brightly but they struggled to create any real openings and as the match developed Colan began to take control. Ian Bendry got his side off the mark with the opener but it was Marcus George who took the game out of Newquay’s reach with two excellent finishes to make it 3-0. Goals from Stuart Martell and Ian Bendry followed in what turned out to be a comprehensive win.
